I wake up suddenly from a horrific nightmare, it felt as if my soul just traveled through the nightmare land and came back inside when I was about to die. My heart was beating twice as fast than its usual beats. I turned on the bedside lamp and looked at the clock, it was a quarter to five. I was feeling so cramped up in that lonely room, I wanted to get out. I needed fresh air. So, I got out of the room.
As I walked through the dark corridor, I saw ‘Ssshhhh’ plates hanging at almost every door. Everything was so calm and quiet, everyone was fast asleep. I went over to the ship’s deck, I looked around and there wasn’t a single soul in sight. I was standing at the edge of the ship holding the railing and thinking that I took this seven day cruise to get away from the bustling city life, to have goodnight sleeps and have a a good peaceful time but I guess things were not going the way I wanted them to. I wasn’t having good night sleeps everyday, more like nightmare sleeps everyday. But at last, I had found some peace and quiet.
I was watching the tranquil indigo ocean swaying and dancing with the waves in their own silent tunes. I looked up to see the day shading from sombre to sapphire. The ocean water was sparkling a little from the deck light which was still on. A gust of wind arrived and gave me goosebumps all over. I stood there for a while and then turned to head back to my room. Suddenly, I stopped to look at the surrounding. It seemed like the night had said ‘Goodbye’ and welcomed the delightful dawn. I quickly went back to the edge, I closed my eyes. I could feel the fresh morning breeze coming my way and when I opened my eyes, I got a glimpse of the first light of the dawn.
The blushing sun was peeking through the midst of the hills. It was shedding light all around. The calm ocean was glinting with its ivory reflection as it mounted up the landscape. The whole atmosphere was just so beautiful, so serene, and enchanting. I stood there gazing at the majestic sunrise, it felt like I was the only one left in this spellbinding silent world.
